Gwangju institute of science and technology (GIST) is a university located in South Korea. GIST has been firmly committed to fulfilling its foundational goals of advancing the nation’s science and technology and nurturing excellent talents in those fields. As a result, it has grown into a world-class research university in a relatively short period of just over three decades.
In the QS World University Rankings 2021, GIST was ranked No. 4 in the world in the category of citations per faculty. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014 - 2015, where GIST was included for evaluation for the first time, it was placed at No. 4 in Korea and at No. 96 in the world in the subject of Engineering and Technology. This clearly shows that GIST can compete with any institution of higher learning around the world in terms of academic and research achievements.

	Product Name : Next-generation Cancer Immunotherapy Based on Direct Control of TCR Avidity T cells with increased TCR avidity exhibited similar levels of cytokine production as wild-type T cells at an approximately 10-fold lower antigen density. While CAR-T cells may be less effective against solid tumors , our approach may be critical in developing effective adoptive T-cell immunotherapy for solid tumor.
	Product Name : A Novel Therapeutic Compound for Overactive Bladder (OAB) A number of novel chemical compounds activating BKCa channel were selected and their efficacy on controlling OAB behaviors were tested in vitro and in vivo model system. MOA of one such compound is to stabilize the open state of BKCa channel which causes the relaxation of bladder smooth muscle and thus reduces the micturition frequency.
	Product Name : Composition for treating skeletal muscle wasting(sarcopenia) Our compound has been already approved by FDA and it is widely studied under clinical trials with diverse diseases. Not only does this compound make the myotubes larger, but it improves muscle function in mouse muscle atrophy models. Additionally, this compound was validated with human skeletal muscle cells.
	Product Name : Highly sensitive colorimetric immunoassay sensor for COVID-19 virus detection This technology is a color sensor technology that detects the virus through the color change when the coronavirus is adsorbed on the surface. Its simple structure enables large-area manufacturing without complex process technology. Compared to existing methods, it has the advantages of high sensitivity and fast detection time.
	Product Name : Antimicrobial peptoids for treatment of multidrug resistant Gram-negative bacteria We are developing novel class antibiotics based on one of peptidomimetics, peptoids, to overcome drawbacks of antimicrobial peptides. Peptoids had higher in vivo stability than peptides from previous biodistribution study. Based on membrane disruption mechanism, antimicrobial peptoids showed antimicrobial activity against broad spectrum pathogens.
