합성생물학 기반의 Molecule Through Gene (MtG)는 몰젠바이오의 기술을 집약한 독창적인 신약 개발 플랫폼으로 이를 활용하여 퇴행성 뇌질환 파킨슨병, 알츠하이머병 질병조절 치료제 MG-TA 라이브러리를 개발하였습니다. MG-TA는 상용약물인 면역억제제 FK506 (tacrolimus)의 구조 변경을 통해 표적단백질과의 결합 조절을 활성을 조절할 수 있게 한 신규 물질로서 FK506의 면역억제활성은 거의 제거되고, 우수한 신경재생, 신경보호, alpha-synuclein 응집저해, 항신경염증의 다중 기전의 우수한 파킨슨병 치료 효능을 확인하였습니다(단백질, 세포, 오가노이드, 선충, 제브라피쉬, 마우스 모델 등). 경쟁약물대비 우수한 효능도 확인하였습니다.
